- When is the best time to spearfish in Panama?
- Offshore at Isla Montuosa and Hannibal Bank, the prime months for yellowfin tuna are March, April and May. Inshore at Morro Negrito, December through April is best.
- What fish can I target?
- Offshore in blue water: yellowfin tuna, wahoo and dorado. Inshore on the reefs: cubera and red snapper, roosterfish, snook, grouper and sierra.
- Do I need previous spearfishing experience?
- Offshore blue water trips are best suited to experienced spearos. Inshore reef diving at Morro Negrito works for all experience levels.
- What is included in a trip?
- A boat and captain, an English-speaking guide on request, all meals, lodging or island camping, park entrance fees and spearfishing permits. Equipment rental is available.
- How many divers are on each boat?
- Up to 5 divers on the offshore center console and up to 6 on the inshore panga, so everyone gets quality time on the water.
- How long are the trips?
- Offshore Montuosa trips run 4 days around the logistics of fuel and ice, and can be extended on request. Inshore Morro Negrito trips are flexible on length.
- Where are you located?
- We operate in the Gulf of Chiriqui on Panama's Pacific coast: offshore at Isla Montuosa near Hannibal Bank, and inshore at Morro Negrito.
